
Thanks to innovative production technology and the use of the highest quality raw materials, a product with excellent utility properties is created. The characteristic features of bentonite binders produced by Certech include a high content of montmorillonite (active mineral).
Bentonite, as an extremely valuable sedimentary rock, is used in many industrial sectors, including the foundry industry. It is used as a component of molding mixtures, in which it acts as a binder.
The raw material used in production comes from a newly opened Slovak deposit characterized by a high content of montmorillonite (often more than 90%). Thanks to this raw material, as well as a modern grinding line, we have reached a new quality level of bentonite intended for foundry purposes. Its main feature is increased thermal resistance, which is proven by the result graphs of thermal tests.
Thanks to the use of bentonite for foundry purposes called MONOBENT EKSTRA, the customer gains a high-quality molding sand with perfect utility properties and resistance parameters. The production process takes place within the premises of the plant in Niedomice under conditions of constant laboratory supervision, while also adhering to the ISO 9001:2008 quality assurance system. Thanks to this, the repeatability of deliveries is guaranteed.

The group of bentonite binders must include not only pure bentonites but also mixtures of new-generation bentonite with lustrous carbon carriers. Thanks to innovative production technology and the use of the highest quality raw materials, we obtain products with excellent utility properties. CERMIX Group – Mixtures of bentonite with lustrous carbon carriers
Products of this group include: Cermix 15, Cermix 20, and Cermix 25.
Cermix represents mixtures of the new-generation bentonite MONOBENT EKSTRA with a lustrous carbon carrier (as a substitute component for coal dust) called “ekomix” in the respective amounts of 15%, 20%, or 25%. Thanks to the use of highly effective carriers in individual mixtures, the ability to form lustrous carbon reaches an approximate level of:
For comparison – a mixture of bentonite with coal dust in an amount of 25% has this capacity at the level of 2.0%. It follows that when using coal dust in an amount at the level of 25% in the mixture, compared to bentonite, we reach the upper limit of its practical usability. However, even such an amount often does not guarantee the proper quality of the casting surface, while causing many technological difficulties, and at the same time has a negative impact on the economy of the entire process (e.g., the need to clean details, which is time and energy-consuming).
Using CERMIX mixtures with increased efficiency of “lustrous carbon” formation provides a solution for this type of problem, while the mixtures guarantee that the customer obtains high-quality castings without casting defects, and especially a high-quality surface even for more demanding castings. It is also very important that by using the CERMIX mixture instead of coal dust, the emission of harmful gases is significantly reduced, thanks to the use of an “absorbent” that neutralizes harmful compounds such as polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, benzene hydrocarbons, etc.
