Our family business story began in 2001. That was when we acquired our first mining rights for bentonite extraction. This exceptional clay became our passion years ago, and it persists to this day. Bentonite hides an incredible energy within itself, which is an inexhaustible source of inspiration for us. The power of nature also drives our values, which include:

In 2018, we managed to reach another turning point, which was the acquisition of another mining permit. And just as our company’s operations grew, our family team was enriched by additional members who, after many years of experience, decided to continue our family story.
Social Responsibility
We at BENOX value nature above all else and realize our social responsibility towards the only home we all share. Since the beginning of our operation on the market, we have conscientiously fulfilled all legal requirements in relation to the Mining Office and the Ministry of the Environment.
However, we feel that this is not enough, and therefore we are preparing further activities beyond the mandatory requirements.
Our short-term goals are:
- To achieve fully digital operations in order to minimize paper consumption
- If paper must be used, switch to FSC
- Reclamation of tourist trails around our quarries
- Regular maintenance and restoration of forest roads
- Gradual renewal of the vehicle fleet meeting the EURO6 standard
Company Profile
Since 2006, we have been engaged in the extraction of bentonite raw material in the Žiar Basin. Bentonite in this area is among the sources with a high content of the mineral Montmorillonite. This multifunctional mineral achieves amazing absorption properties after its activation, where we exchange calcium (Ca+) and magnesium (Mg+) cations. It is precisely these properties that predetermine bentonite for its versatile use. Our research team has discovered a whole range of applications in various fields through many years of research. However, that is not enough for us, so we continue to research and, in cooperation with our loyal customers, we modify our products according to their specific requirements.
